CANADA GOOSE
In the early 1980s, Canadian mountaineer Laurie Skreslet had a dream: to summit Mount Everest. To achieve his goal, Laurie needed a partner who could provide a parka that met his needs and protected him from Everest's harsh conditions. He found that partner in David Reiss, former president of Canada Goose. This is the story of how the Skreslet Parka came to life and how it changed the world of performance outerwear.
Made in Canada isn't just a slogan stitched on a label -- it's a promise. It means that every coat is hand sewn in the same country from which it was inspired. Canada is critical to the integrity of Canada Goose and the quality of the products. Cold weather is part of the national identity, and there are no better judges of the quality of their products than those for whom they are designed -- and by whom they were inspired. The label is proud to have Canadians rely on the name for protection in unspeakably cold conditions.
There is only one way to make the extraordinary performance outerwear -- carefully, painstakingly, and with extreme attention to detail. Things have to be done right because those who live, work and play in cold climates depend on the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
