The Eyes Have It!
I love Paris all the time—there's very little about the city that's not to love. I particularly love Paris in October, as I finish my frenetic month of international Fashion Weeks: New York, London, Milan, and yes, Paris.
Though the schedule can be dizzying (I promise I'm not complaining), I am dedicated to my search for the superlative from fashion's finest creators for Spring 2016. There were momentous moments, like the epic lace-lavished collection for Givenchy that Riccardo Tisci showed in New York. There were tasteful trends, like the return of the Blazer, Wide-Legged Pants, and bright, brilliant Red!
I know that an informed eye is a relevant eye. Witnessing the remarkable on the runways, with the ability to abandon the less than great, is the only way to make an intelligent and educated edit of a season. I leave fashion show after fashion show where everyone seems to love everything. Make no mistake, I bring an optimistic eye to every fashion experience—I'm just not quick to jump for joy over the not so good. And aren't you happy about that!
Taste is a talent—a gift I enjoy sharing with each and every one of you. It's a gift that I take seriously, knowing you look to Neiman Marcus and me for solid style advice. So while you're contemplating current Fall finds that should make their way into your wardrobe, keep in mind these must-haves: Fantastical Folkloric references. Brilliant Bordeaux and Winter Whites. A captivating Cape, Poncho, Duster—or all three! Chunky Heels and Saddle Bags. Fabulous Furs, real and faux.
Know that my eyes are focused on the upcoming Spring as I'm preparing to bring you the best ideas from the runways. For everything that's right and relevant in fashion, follow me on Instagram for a front-row view of my world. @kendowningNM
