I?m Jenny Smith, National Makeup Stylist for Nars Cosmetics, and these are the Nars Artistry Sessions. In this Nars Artistry Session I?m going to show you how to create The Immaculate Complexion, with a focus on foundation. The first thing we?re going to use is the Nars Oil-Free Pro-Prime Pore Refining Primer. It calms and soothes your skin, and I love it because it actually prevents foundation, concealer or powder from disappearing or fading out during the day. It?s very lightweight, infused with antioxidants, great for all skin types. And now your foundation will stay on beautifully. Perfect. Feels nice and light. So today we are focusing on the Sheer Glow Foundation. It?s really a basic in The Immaculate Complexion. You?ll notice I?m starting in the center of Ariel?s face with the foundation, and I?m blending out and down for a finish that?s polished, perfected and without looking like makeup. The formula I?m using, the Sheer Glow Foundation, is actually infused with a complexion-brightening formula and antioxidants. The complexion-brightening formula has vitamin C, turmeric root extract and antioxidants. The warmth from your fingers will also help to blend the finish so that it never looks like makeup. Every woman should have Concealer. This Concealer is infused with vitamin E, so it?s great for creating a polished finish that?s long-wearing and gives a sheer to buildable coverage. Most women need more brightening on the inner corner of their eye, and then you can blend out and down. Now I?m using a little bit of Loose Powder to help perfect the finish of Ariel?s skin. And what I?m doing is you?ll notice I?m sort of rocking it into her skin with a makeup puff. This application technique helps to fill in any pores and lines, smooth the effect of your skin, while still allowing the beauty of the foundation and your natural skin to show through. So I rocked the powder in, and now I?m doing the second part, which we call rock and roll. And I?m rolling the brush over her face to buff away any excess powder. What I also love to do after creating a beautiful, polished Immaculate Complexion is create a little bit of warmth and healthy color on the skin. So I?m using one of our Multiple sticks. And The Multiple stick is going to give a little bit of radiance, and just sort of sculpting. This is not part of The Immaculate Complexion, but it?s a great way to define, contour or add radiance as a finishing touch. So it?s really more of an enhancement than anything.
