A centered circle, with swirling strokes in motion, draws the eye inward. Deep fields of black violently emerge, while tones of flesh and ocher bring warmth, earth, and fragility.

About Robert Robinson:
Growing up in 1950s middle America, Robert Robinson's life mimicked a Norman Rockwell painting in many ways. After an unsatisfying stint as an art teacher, he worked as a carpenter and builder of homes, and the construction skills he learned profoundly impacted his creative work. His art is known for its high energy and mixed media abstraction. Manipulating tar paper and carbon steel, his elegant, symbiotic creations are at once powerful and delicate.
