"I joined the ranks of amazed spectators when I first saw the installation, Big Bambu on the rooftop of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mike and Doug Starn's Big Bambu took around six months to complete, and every day New Yorkers would watch, climb and rappel off this giant bamboo structure as it came together. It motivated me to create a line of bags, clutches and totes that were inspired by nature but that were still very much part of the city and city living." —Fiona Kotur -
"The inspiration for the collection coincides with the emerging neo-punk trend. The bags are a fusion of punk-glam-biker-rock, all of the things I love." —Ted Rossi -
"For Spring 2011, a new collaboration with jewelry designer Michelle Fantaci brought us three new evening shapes that combined our classic look with the uniqueness and beauty of hand crafted hardware. In addition to these new shapes, we focused on soft and romantic neutrals with just a bit of the color pop we all crave in the spring. Luxe leathers and fabrics such as an extremely soft raffia brought the subtle elegance of the entire collection together." —Lauren Merkin
Ted Rossi, Lauren Merkin and Fiona Kotur are appearing together at Neiman Marcus stores this week.
