Seeing Things: Skyfall

Tom Ford Sunglasses

Tom Ford "Marko" Sunglasses

Confession: I go to James Bond films for the sole purpose of seeing Daniel Craig in a Tom Ford wardrobe, and Skyfall, the 23rd film in the series, will be no exception. Although one does get jaded by the multiple brand-fest that the films have become, the wardrobe truly is a treat for the sartorially aware. After all, you only see this much Tom Ford tailoring on a red carpet, in Tom Ford stores, or in NM stores. Skyfall comes to U.S. theaters this weekend. See if you can spot Tom Ford’s “Marko” polarized aviator sunglasses.

“I am a Los Angeles-based stylist who started a blog with two stylist friends. We decided to showcase our individual looks and what inspires us. I want people to understand that you can look fashionable without spending all your money. Don’t get me wrong, it definitely feels good to splurge a little here and there, but you need to remember to spend on staple pieces that you will have forever. Those pieces will be your go-to’s and you will never regret having them in your closet, that’s a promise. “I’m a vintage shop owner and I started my blog in 2006 when I was 14 as a creative outlet to share vintage inspiration and travel diaries. And since then it has grown tremendously, these past 3 months alone I’ve been traveling for projects and fashion weeks. (Lollapalooza with Teen Vogue, 2 design collaborations, Miami Swim Week, New Zealand Fashion Week…) I believe I am a ‘Blogger on the Cusp’ because the years of growing a relationship with my readers and sharing these opportunities, these adventures and my inspiration on my blog have brought me to a very exciting moment. Neiman Marcus + Target: The Products!

You’ve waited very patiently for this, and for that alone you belong on Santa’s “nice” list. NM and Target announced an epic co-collaboration with 24 CFDA designers way back in July. We now present the collection, which will be available December 1. As promised, it’s chockablock with giftable items for women, men, children, pets and home. What’s on your list?

Today in New York the retailers unveiled the products to the press, appeared on “Good Morning America” and announced a major integration into the ABC series “Revenge.” Target and Neiman Marcus will be the sole sponsors of the show’s November 11 finale, and in lieu of commercials, the Revenge team is creating original content incorporating the #Holiday24 collection. It will be stylish, scandalous, and it will destroy you.

This year we can all follow the finalists’ journey, via a documentary series on Vogue.com. New episodes are loaded on Tuesdays.

Seeing Things: Nancy Gonzalez TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art at Sotheby’s

Nancy Gonzalez CEO Santiago Barberi Gonzalez commissioned ten world-class contemporary artists to create works out of the brand’s crocodile Leaf Tote, in partnership with TWO x TWO, the noted Dallas based organization behind the annual TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art, an annual contemporary art auction held in the Richard Meier-designed Rachofsky House in Dallas, benefiting two organizations—amfAR and the Dallas Museum of Art. Artists include Raqib Shaw, Jenny Holzer, Lawrence Weiner, Will Cotton, Josephine Meckseper, Richard Phillips, Kaws, Jim Hodges, Dr. Lakra and Mickalene Thomas. Sotheby’s held a preview during New York Fashion Week, attracting an exciting mix of art-world influencers and fashion insiders.

All handbag photos above are by Naoya Fujishiro and Akihiro Sakai.

Neiman Marcus is the presenting sponsor of TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art, and helped merge the forces of Santiago and Nancy Gonzalez with art philanthropists Howard and Cindy Rachofsky. We captured this moment between Santiago and Cindy in New York, as they reflected on their project.

NM: How did this all start?

CR: Santiago was in Dallas on business and Jim Gold [NM president of stores] called and asked, could I bring a vendor?

SG: A vendor?! That’s so tacky! [Laughing.]

CR: “He’s Nancy’s son and he’s a contemporary art collector, and I’d love for him to meet you and see your house and your collection.” Well, it was just an immediate romance and bromance. Santiago offered bags, and I said, let’s ask artists. Well that’s all he had to hear. He and our chairman Amy Phelan called every artist they have a relationship with and those artists said yes within days.

SG: Then we had to turn down people! Because everyone said yes.

NM: How did you identify the artists you wanted?
