There is something about the light in the Desert Southwest that is just a little more vibrant than anywhere else. Blues look bluer, pinks look pinker and everything is bolder. Bobbi Brown’s latest collection Desert Twilight transports us to an evening in the desert for Fall.
The gem of the collection is the eyeshadow palette that reminds me of a rose-colored sunset. The shades are neutral, but with a pink/blush undertone that looks especially great on hazel eyes. Her powders, as usual, are finely milled and a dream to blend. And I appreciate the inclusion of beautiful matte taupes, along with a chocolate that, when wet, makes a great eyeliner. The sleek metal packaging is worthy of the most fabulous of purses.
Desert Twilight eye palette
The powder bronzer & blush duo Pink Peony/Bahama Brown is a universally flattering palette that can accomplish a sun-kissed glow all in one. The pan is large enough that you can easily get a full-sized brush in each shade. And there is just the perfect amount of shimmer to the powders.
Desert Twilight cream blush
The cream cheek & lip color is a sheer but blendable cheek color in two shades. I love this tube for on-the-go simple summer color.
Long-wear gel eyeliner in Twilight Night
Long-wear gel eyeliner is one of Bobbi’s iconic products. I am obsessed with it in Caviar. Twilight Night is similar to some of her current shades but I love the balance of shimmer and the plum/brown is less severe than jet black.
Long-wear cream shadow in Blue Moon.
For a playful eye, pick up her newest long-wear cream shadow in the turquoise Blue Moon. This shadow goes on sheer and is literally crease-proof. I love the ease of swiping on a wash of color with my ring finger and you are set!
High Shimmer lip gloss in Bronzed Heather, Twilight and Evening Sunset.
Bobbi Brown creates a great nude lipglosses and her newest shades are no exception. I love the toasted and golden high shimmer lipgloss in Bronzed Heather. The four additions to her regular line of lip glosses are balanced, neutral and easy to wear.
Nail polish in Twilight Night and Turquoise.
Despite being called a Fall collection, Turquoise is the perfect summer blue manicure. It is much more aqua than the other blues I have seen. The Twilight Night is totally on trend for the fall with it’s plum, vampy shade.
