A Beauty Guide to Spring Color
Many of us may still be bundled up against the elements, but there’s no question that spring is on the horizon. If you’re craving color, you’re not alone. This quick beauty guide to what’s hot right now will help you transition from the dark colors of fall/winter to the sorbets and neons of spring/summer.

NEON
Neon is huge right now — and not just in clothes and accessories. When you’re feeling a little blah, nothing brightens up the complexion (or lifts the spirits) like a splash of bright color. For an instant pick-me-up, turn to Bobbi Brown’s Neons & Nudes collection. Known for her easy, wearable cosmetics, Bobbi makes the neon trend simple, pairing bold orange and pink lips with demure blushes and neutral eyes.
For a dose of happiness that you can admire all day long, check out Le Metier de Beaute’s Resort collection, a collaboration with Neiman Marcus’s own Ken Downing. The Jetset collection includes three tropical nail polishes, perfect for fingers or toes: ShocKen Pink, Yield to Yellow and Not So Safe Orange.
Definitely check out Laura Mercier’s Tres Chic Collection, a lip-and-nails offering including five haute-haute-haute limited edition polishes (in shades like Sizzle and Cabana). If you like bright lips, but need a more office-friendly interpretation, Laura’s Gel Lip Colours offer tropical hues in a sheerer finish.
PINK
As Joan Rivers says, every woman looks good in pink. Pink lends a universally flattering glow – no wonder it’s on-trend, year after year. The best thing about this delightful color is that you can wear it anywhere: lids, lips, and cheeks.
An instant favorite: Guerlain Cruel Gardenia. This shimmery, rose-embossed highlighter is beautiful even before you put it on. Dust it on your cheekbones for an angelic glow.
And prepare to fall in love with Bobbi Brown’s Rose Gold collection. You’ll swoon for her new Shimmer Bricks (multitasking powders that can be worn on eyelids or cheeks) in Rose Gold and Wild Rose, six new pink Rich Lip Color lipsticks, and four new pink glosses.

GREEN
Ah, green. The ultimate symbol of spring and rejuvenation. And there are so many gorgeous ways to “go green” this season.
Dior’s Five-Color Eyeshadow palette in Garden Pastels is a breath of fresh air with its golden green and aqua-green shades. If you’re not sure how to wear it, try a simple, one-color wash on your lid (keep the color below the crease).
Lancome’s Color Design eyeshadow palette in Vert Tendresse offers a five-part fantasy on green — from brow highlight to liner — as fresh as walking through a garden.
For just a touch of color that you can use to “springify” your existing eyeshadow palettes, apply Lancome’s Le Stylo Waterproof in Green Petal on your waterline.
And if you’re feeling green right down to your fingertips, try on YSL’s La Laque No. 7 Nail Duo (mint green and chocolate brown — for complimentary fingers/toes, or a funky French manicure). Or try out Dior’s utterly fabulous, scented-when-dry Waterlily.

YSL La Laque No. 7, $30. Dior Waterlily, $23.
There’s even a green lipgloss! Don’t worry, it goes on clear and smells like mint and eucalyptus.
