Donna Karan’s Picks For Fall 2011

Donna KaranDonna Karan called her Fall 2011 collection “Pearls of Wisdom,” and aptly so, because it was as luminous, as feminine, and softly contoured as a pearl. The draping; the volumes on top, paired with the sleekness of a pencil skirt; and the luxurious textures throughout were pure Donna Karan. The hair, styled into a top knot by Eugene Souleiman, and the head scarves draped over them spelled all-out, Grace Kelly glamour.

However, the ‘do that turned heads and latched onto memory belonged to designer Erin Fetherson. She typically induces hair envy all over town with her flawless, blunt bangs and straight, cornsilk strands. But on the night she launched her Erin line at Milk Studios, she and hair stylist Odile Gilbert showed how fancy hair—with silk cord braided in, no less—can also be chic, especially with a simple outfit.
