I’m shouting it from the (social media) rooftops. Orange is THE color for nails right now. And leave it to Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing to come up with two shades that perfectly embody the trend. In a partnership with Le Métier de Beauté, Ken created the Indian Summer collection. We might be in the thick of summer right now, but those nostalgic last days of the season aren’t far away.

You may recall that for Resort, Ken created an intense orange called Not So Safe Orange. These new shades represent a gradual mellowing of that intensity.

Le Metier de Beaute Nail Lacquer in Wild Ginger and Penny Lane.

Wild Ginger is a brilliant orange that works especially well with a summer glow. I love the cheerful pop of color. Yet, the orange conjures the fall shades just around the corner.

Penny Lane is one of those shades that looks great now and will be even more fabulous in the fall. It is a true burnt orange, evoking those last moments of a summer sunset.

Pointer and thumb are Wild Ginger. Rest are Penny Lane.

Both shades channel that easy, bohemian vibe of shortening summer days. They look great with summer’s corals and bronzed skin, and will transition perfectly into the next season. I am particularly impressed with the chip resistant, high shine Le Métier de Beauté formula. It is also formulated without formaldehyde, toluene, or dibutyl phthalate (DPB).
