Austin’s Barley Swine Is All That
The Austin restaurant Barley Swine has been racking up acclaim, most recently on GQ’s Ten Best New Restaurants in America, so the Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman social teams chose it as a gathering spot for the fashion people at SXSW. And wow. It did not disappoint. Barley Swine’s ever-changing menu features refined techniques applied to rustic ingredients sourced locally. Chef-owner Bryce Gilmore built his reputation out of Odd Duck Farm to Trailer—yes, a trailer stationed in a park. Barley Swine is tiny, with a spotless open kitchen that supports a feeling of camaraderie among the diners and the friendly, passionate staff. See the exquisite menu for the evening after the jump.
