Out of Office: Charleston

NM media manager Mackay Boynton escaped to the seaside city of Charleston, South Carolina for a long weekend. He shares his personal photos and must-dos.

To See: Charleston is such a great walking city. No car needed. You can tour many of the historic houses. Walking down King Street (my favorite) you will find antique shops, art galleries and restaurants. A quick day trip to Kiawah Island to see the ocean is also a must.

To Stay: Market Pavilion Hotel. The bar on the roof has an amazing view of the city and the water.

To Eat: Shrimp and grits at Magnolias!

To Pack: Jeans and knits were perfect for daytime. At night, when it was much cooler, I’d add a sweater or a light jacket.

Etro grosgrain-trim blazer in navy, pink cotton pants, and shirt with sea life motif.

Burberry Brit’s quilted field jacket and faded dark denim.

Don’t leave Charleston without… Trying the local food, referred to as Low Country food. The She Crab soup is a Charleston favorite.
