Out of Office: Stacy Adams Hicks in Bora Bora

NM's Cusp and swimwear buyer Stacy Adams Hicks (L'Space swimsuit and JPG by Jean Paul Gaultier cover-up) in Bora Bora, on her honeymoon.
This month NM buyer and newlywed Stacy Hicks (formerly Stacy Adams) jetted to Bora Bora for her honeymoon. As you can imagine, the buyer who scouts the best in swimwear and contemporary for a living had no shortage of vacation-worthy maxi dresses, rompers and bikinis! Below she transports us to the Polynesian island surrounded by a crystal clear lagoon scattered with floating huts. Piña colada, anyone?

Stacy walks into her villa at the Four Seasons.
To Stay: The Four Seasons.

The villa came equipped with a trampoline.

Mr. And Mrs. Hicks, poolside.
To Eat: The Four Seasons had two great restaurants. One of their specialties was the Polynesian salad, which was heaven! It was fresh raw tuna, cucumbers, tomatoes, and coconut milk…served with white rice. A few days in, we took a boat into town and ate at St. James, which was amazing. It is a French restaurant with a huge porch that overlooks the ocean.

To Drink: Piña Colada.

Sharks and stingrays.
To Do: The best day was when we went on a boat tour and swam with the sharks and stingrays. The sting rays come right up to you so you can feed them. You don’t touch the sharks though!

Paddle boarding in a Rosa Cha one-piece.
We also did a lot of paddle boarding – which was a workout because of how strong the wind is.

The massage table with an undersea view.
We hit the Four Seasons spa every chance we had. The massage tables looked down on a see-through floor…so you can watch the fish swim below you while getting your massage!

To See: The entire island! You can rent a private boat which will take you around the island and tell you all the history. During WWII, the U.S. chose Bora Bora as their South Pacific military supply base, and there are so many interesting things the U.S. military left there (like huge cannons up on cliffs.) Our private captain also took us swimming with the manta rays, which are part of the whale family and are absolutely massive.

A local.
To Wear: Dresses and rompers at night, but make sure to bring a sweater because of the breeze off the water. During the day, just your swimsuit!
Don’t leave Bora Bora without…? Black pearls. Bora Bora is known for them.
