Bobbi Brown’s Corrector & Concealer Redux
Bobbi Brown recently reformulated and relaunched her corrector and concealer. This is a huge development, because corrector and concealer are the cornerstone of a Bobbi Brown makeover; she calls them her “Secret of the Universe.” They are the first and most important step in her 10 Step Beauty makeup application process (designed so that you could run out the door after any step and still feel good about yourself).
The Bobbi method to covering undereye circles is to first apply corrector in smooth, even strokes, over any and all darkness. Tap (with your fingers) to blend. The corrector cancels out green or purple around the eyes.
If your undereye circles are not severe, you may need little or no concealer. (Though many ladies—myself included—will prefer the results after adding concealer.) Like the corrector, concealer is applied with a synthetic eye brush (over the same area) and then tap-blended with fingers.
Finally, you set the concealer with powder (applied with a fluffy eye brush) by rolling it across the undereye area. Rolling the brush sets the cream products without moving them.
The latest reformulation actually moved the products closer to Bobbi’s original concealer and corrector formula. The texture is velvety and less wet than the preceding versions. This makes them less prone to crease, because you get better coverage with less product. They also include skincare ingredients, to improve your undereye area over time.
The Corrector is available in 12 shades, $22 each. Creamy Concealer is available in 14 shades. You can either buy it alone ($22) or in the Concealer Kit, ($32) a small, travel-friendly compact which contains concealer and the corresponding shade of setting powder.
If you know your shade in a Bobbi foundation, you should be able to translate that information across concealer and corrector. But for best results, visit your local counter and get matched.
