Closet Space: Stacy Azcarate

NM: How would you describe your style through your wardrobe?
SA: Bohemian with conservative work clothes thrown in.
NM: What era are you most passionate about?
SA: The 1970s. Lots of great dresses, boots, jackets and hats!
NM: Do you collect anything?
SA: Clothes and stamps in my passport.
NM: What is the best style advice you’ve received?
SA: If it makes you happy, wear it. If it makes you uncomfortable, take it off!
NM: What do you think your closet says about your personality?
SA: I’m eclectic, but grounded. My clothes are eclectic, but I’m loyal to a particular theme mainly comprised of dresses and boots.
NM: Who are your favorite designers?
SA: It changes, but right now: Proenza Schouler, Chloe, Balenciaga, Isabel Marant (Etoile and main line), Altuzarra, Thakoon and 3.1 Phillip Lim.
NM: What would you like to add to your closet next?
SA: Missoni Spring 2012 dresses.
NM: Describe one of your favorite items and the significance behind it.
SA: A vintage dress my friend Angela bought in St. Barts and gave to me because she said she felt like she was borrowing my dress every time she wore it.
NM: If you could wear one designer for the rest of your life who would it be?
SA: Proenza Schouler.
