Cream Blush According to La Prairie’s Raychel Wade
La Prairie is best known as one of the most prestigious skincare brands in the world, but it also has created beautiful makeup since 2003. La Prairie color ambassador (brand-speak for national makeup artist) Raychel Wade was dispatched to Houston and Dallas to present Bouquet de Jardin, the peony-inspired makeup collection she developed for Summer 2011. Peony is most evident in the Cellular Radiance Cream Blush, now available in two new shades.
“Cream blush is my all-time favorite product to have in my bag, and the brighter the better,” Wade declared. She gave us an impromptu lesson in cream-blush application.
1. Gently tap your finger onto the blush a few times to pick up the color.
2. Smile, and dab the color onto the fleshiest part of the cheek, directly below the pupil.
3. Blend outward and slightly up, but don’t extend it past the outer corner of the eye.
What if you’re in the habit of sweeping blush out to your hairline for contouring? Wade says to use bronzer for contouring, not blush. And now it seems so obvious.
