Erdem, Fall 2011, The Artist’s Wife

The tempestuous relationship between artists and their wives—like Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner—lent inspiration for Erdem’s Fall collection. Carrying on the trend towards knee length hemlines and ladylike polish, but this time with a couture touch to the lace overlays, embroidery and painterly prints. Erdem’s poetic prints took on darker brush strokes for Fall, straying from the florals he did for spring to create a sophisticated digital collage that gave a vibrant watercolor effect to the rich colors bleeding into each other.
