Richard Nicoll, Fall 2011, Like A Moth

Richard Nicoll, formerly with Cerruti, took his eponymous fall collection in a luxe sportswear direction.  Like the moths that inspired his collection, sweatshirts in glistening velvet and silk were transformed into a dresses with stunning bi-level hems. Luxurious oversized parkas had lustrous glints of mustard and ivory in the linings, while sweatpants with elasticised hems were transformed in delicate chiffon and gleaming velvet.  Blocks of colors in tangerine, mustard and olive, with touches of petrol blue and black, flowed together in a palette as soft as a moth’s wing.
