Beauty Review: Guerlain Orchidée Imperiale Longevity Concentrate
A lot can happen in decade, particularly as it relates to skin. Wrinkles and imperfections suddenly come to the fore and the skin changes in ways we may not have anticipated. Coincidentally, a decade is also the amount of time it took the expert team at Guerlain to develop a new serum that works to turn back cellular time more powerfully than any other Guerlain component.
The feat started with the orchid, which Guerlain has mastered in its 180-plus years in the beauty business. They set out to improve the legendary and beloved Orchidée Imperiale creams and to break new ground in the field of longevity. In doing so they created Orchidée Imperiale Longevity Concentrate, which uses the power of three distinctive orchids (hand picked from 30,000 other choice blooms) to accomplish the lofty goals of smoothing and tightening the skin, reducing wrinkles, improving firmness and radiance and creating a finer and more even skin texture.
Guerlain recommends using Orchidée Impeeriale Longevity Concentrate once a day. It can be used with a number of other topical potions, including retinol which is found increasingly in both skin care and makeup. You are to apply the serum evenly onto your skin in rounding massaging motions. The smell is luxurious and the application is straightforward. The stunning capsule-bottle releases a precise amount of serum ensuring that not a drop is wasted.
After ten days, my skin seemed refreshed and certainly more even. As an added bonus, my makeup seemed to last longer throughout the day. While that is not a claim of the product, I’ll take it. Orchidée Imperiale Longevity Concentrate launched at select Neiman Marcus stores and NeimanMarcus.com this month, and retails for $490.
