8 am: Good Morning. Today I’m wearing 3.1 Phillip Lim navy and sequin dress, a bomber tweed jacket with leather sleeves from Comptoir des Cotonniers and a Chanel bag.Starting in the market with Alice + Olivia today. The collection is extensive and I’m so excited Stacey Bendet is designing a gown collection.

11:00 am: At Nanette Lepore. Fun and colorful, lots and lame, lace and lime. Followed by quick run across the plaza at Lincoln Center to Avery Fisher Hall, for the Philosophy presentation. I catch up with buyers Mitch Johnson and Olivia Metzger and discuss ad looks.

1:30 pm: Business lunch at Eileen Fisher with NM’s Lisa Kazor, Mitch Johnson and the creative and sales teams from Eileen Fisher.

2:44 pm: I’m torn, the schedule has been so packed this week and everyone is showing on top of everyone.  And my two friends, Michelle Smith of Milly and Don O’Neil of Theia, are both showing at 3 pm. I decide to attend and support Don for his first runway show, as all of our executives will be at Milly. Don’t hate me, Michelle. I will be at the working appointment Friday morning.

3:20 pm: At Theia. Sitting next to The Real Housewives of New York who are here shooting their reality TV show. The hand embroidered burned paillettes and silk tulle gown that closed the show was a stunner.

4:00 pm: Back uptown to a writing appointment with Hunter.

5:20 pm: For the second season in a row, Marchesa is showing the collection at the Plaza Hotel. Harvey Weinstein is supporting his wife and he brought plenty of starlets.

Jim Gold comments, “It’s like the Golden Globes in here.” It’s all about the ballgowns, feathers, tulles, lace and embellished bodices.

6:45 pm: At the Elie Tahari showroom. It feels like a cocktail party. Models on platforms are in constant motion; the collection is for the woman on the go. Shades of petrol blue, greens, and berries.
