Lancome Artist’s Guide To Makeup At Any Age

Sandy Linter with a client in Dallas.
Celebrity makeup artist Sandy Linter, Lancome’s Beauty at Every Age Expert and co-author of The Make-up Wakeup: Revitalizing Your Look at Any Age gave one-on-one consultations at NorthPark Dallas, and shared her top tips with NMdaily. Celebrity clients like Liz Hurley, Bette Midler, and the model Cheryl Tiegs have depended on Linter’s light touch to make them look their best. In her new book, beauties from 41-65 years old illustrate easy steps for creating a polished look as beauty needs change.
Sandy Linter’s top tips:
-The most common mistake women make as they mature is to stop wearing makeup. Makeup applied with skill makes everyone look better. Don’t give up.
-Applying foundation with a damp sponge and pressing it into the skin creates a lighter, dewy finish on skin.
-One of the most aging things is applying foundation that is too pale. Use a richer, warmer foundation to create a healthy glow.
-Dark lipstick is aging and can make you look mean as you mature. Don’t get attached to a lipstick that doesn’t work for you anymore. If the shade has been discontinued, move on.
-Only put powder on the side of the nose, forehead, and chin so the rest of the skin looks fresh.
-Apply eye makeup first, so that any mistakes can be cleaned up without messing the face makeup.
-A good lip gloss can layer over a lipstick to suit you.
