Out of Office: Seaton’s Jill Roberts in Capri

Seaton, a collection that melds style with a state of mind, offers an array of luxurious and classically beautiful staples for every woman’s wardrobe. Los Angeles-based designer Jill Roberts started the collection in 2005. Since then, her resort and swimwear pieces have soared. Seaton is a testament to Roberts’ love of the outdoors and her never-ending search to find the perfect beach. This pursuit has led her to exotic locations around the world. This season, it was the European chic of the Island of Capri that inspired her classic resort collection.

NM: Tell us about your ideal day in Capri.
JR: I would wake up around 10:00 AM, check emails from the night before and stroll leisurely down to breakfast (fresh fruit, cappuccino and yogurt). Afterward, I would go upstairs, change into an Eres bikini with a Seaton tunic cover up. Pack my beach basket with Clarins sun block, my Kindle, and Jouer lip sheer in St. Tropez. Walk down to La Fontelina (the beach club perched on the island rocks,) sunbathe and read while sipping fresh white sangria. Later, I would meet up with friends for a beautiful lunch at the beach club. We’d eat fresh fish, tomatoes and mozzarella and a little pasta. Washing it down with a lovely dry white Italian wine. Next, I would fall asleep on the rocks and wake up just in time for sunset! Walk back to the hotel and hop into the shower to prep for drinks and dinner. I’d meet my friends in the main square at Il Gran Caffe for cosmopolitans accompanied by olives and chips. People watch and admire all the gorgeous Italian ragazzi. Grab a yummy pizza with friends followed by a crisp arugula salad and more wine! “Wow, is it really midnight? Time to sleep.”

To sleep: Capri Tiberio Palace. Situated close to town and filled with all the modern luxuries of home. Charmingly decorated with colorful hand painted tiles.
To eat: Lunch at La Fontelina is superb

To do: Rent a day boat and cruise over to have lunch at La Conca del Sogno. Beyond beautiful. Take a cool dip in the Mediterranean before a scrumptious meal.
To see: The jagged landscape and the stylish people after the sun goes down.
To wear: A perfect white sundress with classic Caprese sandals (a la Jackie O) and a golden tan.
