One of the things that made our Christian Louboutin event in Beverly Hills so special was the collaboration with L.A. graffiti/street artists. Mr. Louboutin loved this idea because he says graffiti is youthful and universal. (Artists recognize artists.) The store’s window installations featured three canvases: Christine Angelina’s “Red Soles,” Sergio Robleto’s “Sublimate” and Vyal Reyes’ “Heaven and Heel.”  The artists painted inside the window displays as the event took place, so the public could watch. The artist with the biggest impact on the event was Galo “Make” Canote, a proud Angeleno who painted our billboard and the installations inside the shoe department, and created a dress of crushed spray-paint cans that he sincerely hopes Lady Gaga will want to wear. Later at a private dinner, Galo painted yet another mural, onto a wall of canvas tote bags, which guests—much to their delight—got to take home at the end of the night. Thank you to all the artists who made the event unforgettable!
