Prada, Spring/Summer 2012, Milan Fashion Week
Foam cars that doubled as seating dotted the floor at the Prada show space. With 1950′s references, this show was lady-chic meets pin-up girl at the drag races! First look: a pale blue lace eyelet car coat with solid back topped a powder blue full pleated skirt and a bra top. Red patent shoes had drag racer flames. Double handled lady bags completed the look. Car coats in unusual color mixes, pleated front blouses, pleated lace skirts and Fifties swim suits were key items. Race car motifs…roses…flames. An emerald green trench with rhinestone embellished shoulders with a race car on the back was spectacular! The final coat was embroidered with coral roses on taupe heavy satin. Feminine, embellished, flattering and pretty! A great collection!
