Roopal’s Milan Journal – Day 2
7:11 am: Ciao Milano! Wake up begins with a knock on the door and coffee to the room.
7:53 am: Edit Paris shows – they are happening as we speak. Notice graphic colorblock and sport futurist influence at Balenciaga.
8:45 am: Meet Julee Butler, DMM of shoes, and Mary Elise McGowan, senior buyer of shoes. We head to Prada, where we left off last night. The Principe lobby is buzzing with activity. It’s another beautiful and bright day – bright, sunny, and mild weather.
9:15 am: How chic is breakfast at the Prada canteen? Almost like a art installation. Fully curated.

Daily dose of art, breakfast and beauty at Prada!
We are so excited about the shoe collection.

Mary Elise and Julee writing orders at Prada. No table is ever big enough for this project!
The translation of the runway fantasy to every day is fantastic. Fifties influence (cars and women) comes in tail light details, flower details and flames.

We can’t help but to think of our Las Vegas store when we see lucky dice appliqués on the shoes. A very unique collection!
11:14 am: Grab a taxi to Bottega Veneta.
11:40 am: Arrive at BV. I really loved the entire BV collection! I don’t even know where to begin. The clever use of color, exotic skin combinations, innovative color blocking, the jewelry…the list goes on and on.

Some of my favorite handbags are in python, tie dye crocodile, cobra, and snake. The patchwork clutch and color block minaudiere are standout pieces.

2:00 pm: At Fendi, madness in the air! The showroom is buzzing with activity and great energy.

The collection has rave reviews across the board. With the launch of their upcoming Fendi Baguette book in April, everyone is in major need of a Fendi bag.

The Bergdorf Goodman team tells us some of their favorites: The Daisy bag, a beaded flap over clutch with fur trim – it is beyond gorgeous. I kind of need it now. We are also excited about the launch of the B. Fab bag. Part bucket, part shoulder, part top handle. This bag is multi-functional and super chic!

The perforated suede and drawstring details are great way to get the sport and mixed media trend in one bag. Fendi has some of the best two tone and mixed media combinations out there. We have some beautiful interpratations in store now for Fall. No doubt, we will have wait lists for some of these beauties!

6:40 pm: Retire to the hotel to return emails and a quick refresh.
7:45 pm: Il Salumaio for a dinner with friends. The perfect Friday night!
