Runway Rewind: Burberry, Moschino Cheap & Chic, McQ
Peplumed waists enhanced with bow belts and exposed pockets walked down the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012 runway. Structured military jackets were paired with whimsical elements like illustrated bird tees and gem embellished collars. Christopher Bailey proved that his line-up of London-inspired designs were intended to face all elements as plastic rain pellets fell from the sky as the models did their final walk.
Moschino Cheap & Chic
Moschino’s diffusion label Moschino Cheap & Chic showed it’s Fall 2012 collection for the first time at London Fashion Week. Â Live music queued Sixties ladylike cuts splashed in playful prints and rainbow hues.
The British vibe continued at the McQ Autumn/Winter 2012 show. Models coifed with dramatic tubular updos crunched on Fall foliage as they marched down Sarah Burton’s extra-wide runway. The more accessible diffusion label from the house of Alexander McQueen showed military coats, nipped waists, leaf embossed velvet, lace-up Victorian-era boots, and corseted full-skirted dresses.
