Women's
Runway Rewind: Chloe, YSL, Mugler
Clare Waight Keller kept close to Chloe’s easy elegance for her second season designing for the label. Sporty outerwear, drop waist dresses, elastic waist bubble skirts, and leather boxing shorts in rich reds and muted pastels exuded effortless appeal true to the tradition of the house.
The mood was dark at Stefano Pilati’s last collection for Yves Saint Laurent. Pilati sent black-lipglossed models wearing YSL’s signature high-waisted trousers, plunging necklines and adaptations of Le Smoking down the runway with strong-shouldered toppers, wide leather-belt-cinched waists, chain link dresses and mirrored heels.
Nicola Formichetti sought influence from Thierry Mugler’s ’90s designs for his third Mugler womenswear collection. The show’s start of otherworldly white looks with oversized fox fur sleeves led to more cutout shapes, dramatized shoulders, protruding sculpted hips and asymmetrical hemlines.
