Conventional materials combined with contemporary silhouettes – each Kendra Scott piece is colorful and covetable. The Austin-based jewelry designer started her business ten years ago with $500 and made every piece of jewelry by hand. Known for a kaleidoscope of colored stones and custom designs, her business continues to evolve. For instance, Scott will debut the Couture Collection, featuring unique new materials and gorgeous gems, this Fall. No matter what, she says, family, fashion and philanthropy remain at the core of the business.

“My most important job is being a mother to my two precious boys, and that’s the same for every other mom who works at Kendra Scott.” Stepping into Scott’s South Congress studio is a lot like being in a family home. Offices are filled with framed family photos, and unique furniture distinguishes each space. “We even allow our furry family members at the office sometimes. In fact, my dog Lucy is a familiar face at our Austin corporate headquarters,” says Scott.

Although “family” describes the culture of the company, “fashion is the heart of our company, and our sole focus is to create jewelry that is both fashion-forward and timeless.” Each stone is custom cut in original signature shapes and framed with spectacular detail – filigree patterns or modern curvatures. One of Scott’s top priorities is making sure the jewelry looks good from every angle. “We want our ladies looking fabulous coming and going!” says Scott.
Each season the designs evolve along with Scott’s own style. She looks to Austin’s individual laid-back style as inspiration, season after season. “Austin is just plain cool. The funky vibe that circulates through the city allows everyone to be their own person, and that is reflected in the fashion scene,” says Scott.
Scott considers giving back to the community in a meaningful way as true success. A few of her favorite organizations are Dress For Success, The Go Red Campaign for Women, National Down Syndrome Congress Center and Blessing in a Backpack. “There truly is no greater joy than giving back to others in need, and having philanthropy at the core of our company just adds to the positive, radiant atmosphere at the Kendra Scott office.”
