NM: How important is style in your everyday life?
TT: Style is extremely important. Not just clothing; even the mug I drink coffee out of in the morning.

NM: You recently launched two lines – evening dresses and coats, both available at Neiman Marcus. Can you tell us about it?
TT: We all have special occasions, and want that perfect dress. For 16 years we have been creating great dresses in our signature prints to take away on a resort trip or wear to work. This holiday season we are introducing Trina Turk dresses, a selection of elegant, sophisticated styles for those fabulous events when you want something extra special to wear. We have selected luxurious fabrics, created gorgeous embellishments, and combined them with our signature styling and fit.
Trina Turk coats and outerwear were launched to offer our customer coats that will keep them warm in true winter weather. We selected cozy tweeds, Melton wool and 100% cashmere to create timeless, ladylike coats.
NM: What is the trend you like the most for Fall?
TT: I love all of the gorgeous, strong color this Fall.
NM: What should every woman have in her closet?
TT: A great dress in a bold, solid color or graphic print. We all have a little black dress!
NM: What’s one item you are saving up to buy?
TT: I love the shaggy textured Céline tote bag.
NM: Where do you seek inspiration?
TT: Living in Southern California, nature, traveling, art, pop culture, architecture and interiors inspire me. The fabrics themselves are also a huge inspiration.
NM: Who is your fashion icon?
TT: I have many – Iris Apfel, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Peggy Moffitt, Gloria Steinem, Millicent Rogers, Diana Vreeland and Audrey Hepburn.
