I?m Jenny Smith, National Makeup Stylist for Nars Cosmetics, and these are the Nars Artistry Sessions. Today I?m going to show you a lip-focus look, featuring some of the key shades. The first thing we?re going to use is a cream eye shadow. This shade is Cosmic Girl, which is a shimmering pale gold. What you?ll notice is that I?m actually using it with my fingertip instead of a brush. The warmth from your fingers with the cream eye shadows helps it meld right into the skin to create a beautiful glisten all over. The lightest shade that we?re applying now is the first powder shadow that you?ll apply. It?s an icy pink, and it?s from a new trio eye shadow, Douce France?gives a beautiful brightening effect not only by itself but also over the cream shadow. And what I love about using it over the cream shadow is that it still allows this beautiful glisten to show through. The next shade we?re going to use is the deepest shade of the Douce France Trio Eyeshadow, which is a deep rose, and I?m using it right along Inez?s lash line. This color is a great way to take your look from day into night. And then polish it off with eyeliner and mascara. I?m using our new Larger Than LIfe Long-Wear Eyeliner Via Veneto. The black eyeliner against that deep rose tone from the shadows helps to balance the color. Black eyeliner in a makeup wardrobe is really a modern classic. This is something that every woman most likely has in her makeup bag, or needs to have because you?ll end up using it all the time. Now a quick trick that I love is we are going to use a lighter color of eyeliner. This color is another Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner, and I?m using it as a brightener on the inner rim of Inez?s eye. This light almond color helps brighten the eyes and create more contrast, but without adding any more color. So we?re using the Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara that helps create a really beautiful, lush, long, thick, black lash, but without any clumping or flaking. It?s actually a runway-ready mascara. We tested it at the runway shows before we even launched this product. So since we?re focusing on more of a lip look, I?m just going to lightly touch on a soft blushing of color. This is our new Gaiety Blush, which is a bright candy pink. Quick, simple, mistake proof, I love this color because it adds an instant pop with very little effort. Now my favorite part: the red lip. Now, I chose a rich raspberry color. This is one of our new Pure Matte Lipsticks. It?s called Valpara?so. And this is a rich raspberry. And it?s long-wearing, but it?s non-drying. And it?s infused with antioxidants as well as hydrating ingredients. The slimline package that this comes in makes it very easy to apply over your entire lip, and easy to retouch. Now I did lipstick first, so that we can polish off the edge of the lip look with lipliner. This is Amazon Lipliner, which is a beautiful brick red. And the other reason why I?m doing lipliner second is because if you apply lipliner second, it allows you to glide over the formula of lipstick. Because the lipstick formula is so smooth but long-wearing, the lipliner will enhance and define the edge of your lip to really polish up. And then you can always go back with your concealer brush to really perfect. I love having a lipliner and lipstick that match. It has a classic, yet perfected look and feel. I?m adding one of our new Velvet Gloss pencils: Mexican Rose, which is a beautiful hot pink that helps to add an extra sheen that you can apply all over, just in the center of your lip, or even wear it by itself for a quick fix.
