NARS Spring 2012 Color Collection I'm Jenny Smith, National Make-up Stylist for NARS Cosmetics, and these are the NARS Artistry Sessions I'm going to show you a cheek-focus look featuring some of our key shades. Spring 2012 Color Collection The most magical effects are achieved by layering several colors; it creates a multi-dimensional look with depth and intensity.-Fran?ois Nars The first thing we're going to do is use a light shadow from our new Trio?Douce France. This light shade is an icy pink. I'm using one of my favorite eyeshadow brushes, the #3, which is an eye shader. It's great for blending or even to highlight and pop the eyes. The next thing I'm going to do is use the Rose Petal Pink from the Douce France Trio Eyeshadow and use it right along the bridge of Erin's eye. So what the two shadows do is they help to softly contrast so that they not only brighten, but bring out the natural eye shape. We're using the new Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Via Veneto which is a pure black and I'm using it inside Erin's lash line and what this does is it helps to define the lash line while also thickening the look of your lashes. The next color I'm using is Bengali, which is a rich chocolate brown single eyeshadow and I'm applying it right along Erin's lash line. This helps to thicken the look of her lashes and instantly pop her eyes. A quick trick I love to share with the Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner is that it has a built-in sharpener. Now a quick makeup artist tip is that you can even go back with your light eyeshadow which is the icy pink from the Douce France, and add an instant pop to your eyes as a finishing touch. Now any color can be used to surround your eye or to create a light dusting of color or a soft, subtle haze around your lower lashes. We're going to use the NARS Volumizing Mascara. This Volumizing Mascara creates instant thickness for a rich, black lash. Look at the difference with that already. Boy, you have amazing lashes, too. I'm going to add the Copacabana Multiple Stick which is a glistening, silvery pearl. Now what this tone does, and you'll see, is that it instantly adds radiance to the skin, so wherever you're applying it, it helps to bring light to the skin. So I'm using it above Erin's brow, I'm using it on her brow bone (which, I love the look of this?it's a great substitution for a powder eyeshadow) and then the higher point of her cheekbone. This natural, radiant looks brings an instant glow to your skin. See the difference? So in the NARS Makeup Wardrobe, we are going to apply a color that I consider a modern classic, Gaiety Blush, which is a bright, candy pink. I love this as an everyday color. So for some women if you wear it everyday, it might be a modern classic. But if it's more for the weekends or for fun, to brighten your look, it might be more of an accessory. So since this is my Modern Classic, I'm going to add another color on top of it to make it into an accessory. This accessory color is New Order Blush which has a beautiful, light sparkle to it. It's great alone; you can use it over any other color. It really helps to add a beautiful glisten and change the color while also giving a sparkle texture. Beautiful finish on your skin. The lip color we're going to use is a Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. The color is Belle Du Jour, which is really a perfect, sheer beige. I love to use the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils all over because you can start with this to outline, fill in your lip. Since we're really focused on the cheek, we want to keep the lip lighter and very, very soft in color. The Lip Gloss I'm using, Larger Than Life Lip Gloss, is Coeur Sucr?, which is a bright, shimmering pink. You look amazing!
