Shalimar "Ode a la Vanille" named after the "Ode" fragrance created in 1955 by Jaques and Jean-Paul Guerlain, is the celebration of the star ingredient of the legendary Shalimar fragrance.

Created by Guerlain perfumer Thierry Wasser, it is derived from the very different and yet wonderfully complementary vanillas of Madagascar and Mayotte, these two are are the basis of this "tribute creation."

The Mayotte vanilla contributes a subtle tint like a light and transparent veil of vanilla, while the Madagascar is absolute for a powerful and enchanting base that is almost animal-like andtruly carnal. This limited edition fragrance is infused with the vanillas for almost 48 months to bring out the utmost fine quality of its scents, and in turn, reveals its many facets: warm and delicious, light and cheerful, carnal and intense.
