Can I have this altered today to wear tonight?
Perhaps! Some basic alterations (such as hemming) can be completed same day, in 60 minutes or less.
Is there a charge for express services?
Yes. In addition to any other charges the alterations might incur, there’s a $25 charge for items altered in 60 minutes or less and a $15 charge for same-day or next-day services. (Please note that complex alterations do not qualify for express services.)
Do you offer complimentary alterations?
Basic alterations are complimentary on select regular-priced pieces purchased at Neiman Marcus. All other alterations and tailoring services (including those for items not purchased at Neiman Marcus) will incur a charge based on the service requested. Your tailor will confirm all final charges.
How much do more complicated alterations cost?
Cost varies depending on the complexity of the task and the time required to complete the request. Check with a tailor about your specific needs.
Do you provide alterations on special occasion/wedding dresses?
Yes. We can do all kinds of alterations, from minor to complex, on wedding and other special occasion dresses that you purchase at Neiman Marcus. Unfortunately, we cannot alter wedding dresses purchased elsewhere.
Other than a custom fit, how else can you help customize a piece to my style?
We can change the silhouette, narrow shoulders, taper legs, add functional buttonholes to coat sleeves, do all kinds of hems and personalization, or completely rethink and restructure a garment. Our tailors have lots of ideas. Just ask!
Do you offer adaptive alterations?
Yes. We offer a wide range of discrete alterations, such as magnetic closures and velcro seams, meant to provide more ease and accessibility for those who need it.
Can you repair my garment?
Yes. We can do basic repairs, including replacing a button/snap/hook, repairing a zipper, mending a hole, closing a seam or fixing a fallen hem, and more. Just let us know what you need. (Please note that items must be new or freshly cleaned before they can be altered or tailored.)
Can you tailor clothes I didn’t buy at Neiman Marcus?
Yes. We’re committed to helping you restyle and reuse instead of replace. No matter where you purchased your garment, we can make it right for you and right for right now. (Please note that items must be new or freshly cleaned before they can be altered or tailored.)
Can you restore shoes and handbags?
Yes. We can clean, dye, re-sole, re-heel, re-line, stretch, and expertly repair shoes and handbags. Need something else? Just ask!
