DIPTYQUE Corail Oscuro Eau de Parfum, 100 mL
What it is:
A potent fragrance with a lingering sillage, its name evokes the contrast between the fiery red of coral and the darkness of the sea bed. Like a tree spreading across the bed of the lagoon, coral fans out across the bottle in black lines, and on the sleeve in watercolor.
Scent inspiration:
Diptyque has always drawn inspiration from nature, whether in the wild or tamed by man. Nature enchants our gaze. It stirs our curiosity, feeds our creativity.
The Maison's new collection, Les Essences de Diptyque (The Essences of Diptyque), freely reinterprets the treasures of nature, alternating between the realistic and the fantastical. Revealed in all their beauty, these treasures invite us to pause and admire them.
Delicate and dreamlike, the five compositions in this collection are the product of an alliance between the perfumer's nose and the hand of an artist. Each creation celebrates one of nature's treasures – reinventing it in fragrance and exceptional drawings.
Corail Oscuro speaks of coral, flourishing across the bed of the Venetian lagoon. Its intricate red patterns ripple to the rhythm of the waters, the vibrant color contrasting with the opacity of the depths. Renaissance painters had a name for this interplay of light and dark: chiaroscuro ... and this in turn inspired the name of Corail Oscuro Eau de Parfum.
Combining the work of perfumer Alexandra Carlin and with that of drawing artist Nigel Peake, this olfactory and visual composition brings to life an underwater spectacle.
