Elizabeth Locke Style # ERP84585-B
Elizabeth Locke works closely with a group of Thai craftsmen who are dedicated to bringing her designs to life using centuries old gold smithing techniques. Each piece is completely made by hand to exacting standards in her signature 19-karat gold. Based in Virginia, Elizabeth Locke brings a background rich in culture and experience to her designs. Since the start of her career creating neoclassical jewelry in 1988, Elizabeth personally designs each piece drawing on a lifelong fascination with the jewelry of ancient Etruscan, Greek, and Roman civilizations. Often she incorporates unique, antique pieces that she has collected from all over the world in addition to Venetian glass intaglios made from original 17thcentury molds and brightly colored precious stones. Elizabeth’s deepest passion is for one-of-a-kind antiques such as ancient coins and 19thcentury Italian micromosaics. Two museums — the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond and the Gibbes Museum in Charleston — have hosted an exhibit of Elizabeth’s personal collection of micromosaic jewelry, which is a rare honor
