What It Does: Jasmin Bonheur unveils a colorful jasmine tinted with joyous nuances—radiant orange with an apricot note, vibrant violet with powdery iris, and tender pink with rose—for which the Guerlain Perfumer drew inspiration from the dazzling palette of Henri Matisse. A perfect picture of happiness signed by Guerlain.
Delphine Jelk, Guerlain Perfumer, takes the beguiling delight of jasmine and floods it with sunlight. This daring approach unveils a trail bathed in the light of southern France, a region once beloved by Henri Matisse.
“If Jasmin Bonheur were a masterpiece, it would be a creation by Henri Matisse.”
A born painter of happiness and sublime master of color, Henri Matisse was one of the greatest artistic minds of the 20th century. “Drawn directly into color”, as the artist put it, his masterpieces exude an irresistible joie de vivre.
On par with rose, jasmine is the most iconic flower used in perfumery. It is also one of the six beloved ingredients of the Guerlinade, the Maison’s secret olfactory signature that has defined Guerlain fragrances ever since its creation.
Jasmin Bonheur exalts both of the varieties of jasmine used in perfumery. Known for its olfactory potency punctuated with fruity notes, the large-petalled Grandiflorum jasmine is sourced by Guerlain from three different locations—Grasse, Calabria, and India—to achieve exceptional olfactory quality. Among them, Indian Sambac jasmine offers up its more delightful solar facets, forming a scent akin to that of orange blossom.
Hand-picked at daybreak to preserve all the freshness of the petals before the sun touches them, the delicate jasmine blossoms present their essence solely in the form of an absolute.
