Convinced of its exceptional potential, Guerlain set up its first research center ever to be devoted to an ingredient: the Orchidarium®. The aim of this international research center dedicated to the Orchid and skin longevity is to uncover, understand, study, and explore the potential of orchids and their biological and cosmetic properties, in order to support skin longevity research.
One of its particularities is that it blooms for only three weeks a year compared to two to three months for other varieties. Another is that it has flowers with both male and female parts and functions on the same stem. This characteristic is a major asset, accounting for the plant's sensitivity to the environment and ability to adapt metabolically to it. In reaction to external stressors (e.g. too much sun or too little light), it produces more male flowers, which is conducive to the fertilization of female flowers and subsequently the production of a larger number of fruits. This “smart” plant economizes energy and thereby increases longevity.
How To Use
- Take a dab of cream with the small-tipped end of the applicator. Then, using its rounded part, apply to the undereye and lip contour areas.
EYES
I. Smooth: Trace a "figure eight". To make the first loop, start applying at the inner corner of the eye, continue under the brow to the temple, then return – under the eye – to the starting point. Repeat for the other eye to complete the "figure eight".
II. To help smooth the eye contour area: Using the rounded end of the applicator, slowly and gradually apply firm pressure to each of the "acupressure points" (see below) for 5 seconds, then release pressure for another 5 seconds.
III. To relax the entire eye contour area: Apply pressure midway between the eyebrows.
IV. To tone the skin: Inner corner of the eye, sweep from the "head" to the "tail" of the eyebrow and temples. Proceed from the "tail" of the brow to the inner corner of the eye, patting gently under the eye. Repeat for the other eye.
LIPS
V. Smooth: Press firmly and smoothly, sweeping along the natural lip contour line, first in one direction, then the other. Perform a similar maneuver, but replace the sweeping motion with gentle patting to plump up the lips.
VI. To gently stimulate the skin: Apply pressure to a point between Cupid's bow and the nose.
