Christine Henry drew on the unique heritage preserved in the collections of the Museum of Fabrics and Decorative Arts in Lyon to design in 2013 the square adapted here into a giant triangle. The inspirations are numerous: Coptic tapestries, Ottoman fabrics of the sixteenth century, Lyon silks, Indian fabrics of the eighteenth century, Japanese kimonos.

The artisan begins by transferring the inspired motif onto mother-of-pearl. All the contours are hand-adjusted to make them more clearly defined. The palette of colors is then prepared, and the first layer of paint is delicately applied. Around twenty layers are applied in order to intensify the colors and add the necessary nuances to the details of the design. Between each layer comes a firing operation at 90 °C to dry the paint
