Pablo Contrisciani, Artist
Pablo Contrisciani graces the Bal Harbour Zodiac® with his installation of paintings, which explode with energy and emotion. Colors and textures bring a dynamic presence into the space. Contrisciani works on the floor, dripping the paint and using other effects in which his body movements are deeply related to the strength of the colors. Employing these so-called "action-painting" techniques, he literally draws with the drips, creating wonderful, dynamic patterns. He repeats his actions obsessively over the entire surface, creating optical effects. Contrisciani achieves a certain harmony which is both playful and sophisticated at the same time.
"My intention is to transport the viewer into a unique environment through optical effects created with planes of colors that advance and receded in a never-ending manner," says Pablo Contrisciani.
Pablo Contrisciani was born in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. After receiving his MFA and participating in various exhibitions in Argentina, he lived in Europe in 1993 and then moved to the United States in 1994. After a few years in New York City, he settled in Miami, Florida, where he has lived since 1998. Contrisciani's work has been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries around the world. Neiman Marcus is honored to include his work in its permanent collection.
Pablo Contrisciani's studio is located at the Art Center South Florida, 800 Lincoln Road, #101 in Miami Beach. For more information, please contact the artist at 305.531.8814.
